This position is a part of the School’s Operation department.  This Facilities Staff member is a highly motivated individual that will report to the Facilities Manager and will be responsible for assessing and resolution of building needs.  These include daily repairs to plumbing, electrical and mechanical equipment, carpentry, painting,  preventative maintenance programming, managing staff/ designated contractors, and designation/completion of work orders.

Essential Duties and Requirements

• Supervise multiple vendor services and work order services as approved by the Facilities Manager
• Paint interior and exterior surfaces
• Utilize carpentry skills to repair cabinetry, doors, hardware, sheetrock, and other surfaces
• Safely work to repair the school’s mechanical systems by using both power and hand tools
• Complete preventative maintenance checklists and carry out all associated repairs as designated by the Facilities plan
• Effectively communicate with faculty and staff, both in written and verbal forms
• Utilize the school’s maintenance work request system to both communicate individual status and provide quarterly reports of system activity 
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing issues
• Report all unsafe conditions to the Facilities Manager or Director of Operations to be addressed and resolved
• Assist the Facilities Manager with all job-related tasks
• Organize and supervise activity/event setups and additional contracted staff 
• Uphold the values that are consistent with the mission of the school
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Educational Requirements

• Associates Degree, or 4 years of supervising experience or equivalent (preferred)
• Basic computer skillset including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Basic Excel, BMSystems (I-vu), Help desk systems, and email
• Knowledge of blueprints, schematics, local and state regulations and codes
• Able to work with minimal supervision
• Able to work in an environment that includes chemicals, dust, fumes, odors, and fluctuating temperatures
• EPA Certifications (preferred)
• Electrical, plumbing, and/or HVAC licenses (preferred)
• Valid Georgia Driver’s License
