IT Support Specialist
At Cape Fear Academy the IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in our community by providing first line technical support to all faculty, staff, students and parents. Following all IT best practices, as well as IT policies and procedures the IT Support Specialist is expected to provide quick, efficient and secure support while also being kind, courteous and informative to users. Security, availability and confidentiality are important when configuring and maintaining user and computer accounts, the Google Workspace environment and applications used by our community. It is expected that the IT Support Specialist will continue education through training and certifications on technologies used at Cape Fear Academy.
Major Responsibilities:
- Provide phone, remote and deskside technical support to all users.
- Route support tickets sent to the IT ticket portal to the correct technicians.
- Manage Active Directory Users and Computers. (create accounts, maintain OU organizational structure, assign permissions, etc..)
- Configure, troubleshoot and maintain our Google Workspace environment. (Super admin role and responsibilities).
- Maintain IT inventory. (audits, updates, tracking, user notifications, etc..)
- Provide end user support for the school's student information system and portal. (Senior Systems).
- Assist the team with monitoring performance and security dashboards.
- Enforce cybersecurity best practices.
- Maintain helpdesk documentation.
- Maintain current knowledge on software and hardware used by users and administrators.
- Point of Contact for all CFA events requiring technology assistance.
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience managing users and Chromebooks in a Google Workspace environment.
- Working knowledge of managing users and computers in Active Directory
- Experience troubleshooting software and hardware issues with Windows 10 and macOS/iOS
- General understanding of troubleshooting and resolving wireless connection issues
- General knowledge of audio/visual equipment operation
- Experience managing Apple devices using Apple School Manager
- Creating Standard OS images for mass deployments
- Experiencing tracking assets across multiple departments
Education: Associates degree in an Information Technology field or equivalent industry standard certifications. IT related military experience is a plus.
Experience: Two to Five years as an IT Technician in an educational or business environment.
Equivalency: Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
