The Lab School of Washington seeks a full-time High School English teacher for the 2022-2023 academic year. The ideal candidate has an advanced degree and experience teaching English/Language Arts to high school students with learning differences. Sought after attributes include the ability to: support students in the exploration of literature representing a diverse range of authors, themes and perspectives; scaffold instruction for formal written essays, including research-based writing that requires an analysis of credible sources; incorporate culturally responsive teaching practices; work collaboratively with teaching colleagues and specialists; and employ innovative and creative opportunities for students to demonstrate their knowledge of and interpretation of literature. The candidate must be willing and able to pursue certification in the content area or Special Education, or be certification-eligible in the District of Columbia.
All faculty and staff employed by Lab must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or submit an official medical exemption.
