General Job Description: St. Anne’s Episcopal School seeks a dynamic, organized, and caring professional to serve as the School Receptionist.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask in a busy environment while maintaining a welcoming and friendly presence with students, parents, and colleagues and consistently exhibiting high standards of professional conduct. In addition, the receptionist is expected to understand, accept, and abide by the School’s philosophy and mission statement in all his/her school activities and work with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with others. The incumbent must possess the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team as well as maintain confidentiality.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a positive, welcoming, and caring climate in the Front Office.
- Greet all incoming students, families, and guests respectfully and professionally
- Answer phone calls in a pleasant manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a good image of the school
- Manage telephone message system (office hours, and other recorded messages)
- Assist in all aspects of maintaining a professional front office, including but not limited to, fielding and directing incoming phone calls to the appropriate staff member in a timely, professional manner, as well as filing, copying, and faxing sensitive information.
- Perform data entry tasks as needed on the admissions, development, attendance and financial systems.
- Receive, count, open, unpack, date, stamp, record, sort and distribute incoming mail, documents, books, materials and supplies following established procedures.
- Sort and stamp out-going correspondence, address envelopes and packages and prepare printed matter and other material for mailing.
- Receive and refer visitors, take telephone calls and messages, and provide routine information upon request.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Customer service experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google products.
- Experience with Adobe, photoshop or canva preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse community
- Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift supplies and materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Achieve and maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications
