Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School seeks a PS Library/ Media Specialist to encourage literacy, maintain the library collection, facilitate and encourage professional development related to technology integration for teachers, maintain library computer and technological devices, and perform clerical functions related to the maintenance of the collection.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with the School to design and assist in implementing a technologically advanced media space
- Be supportive of the CGPS equity, justice and inclusion initiatives
- Meet individually with students for additional support as needed
- Create a positive environment that fosters challenge and support
- Facilitate a supplementary independent reading group for PS students
Work Hours
- 7:30am-3:30pm Monday through Friday
- Weekly faculty and department meetings until 4:30pm
- Start date: August, 2022

- Master’s degree in Library Science or related discipline
- Specialized knowledge of library operations and procedures
- Ability to communicate with students
- Assist students and teachers with requests, independent study coursework, and computerized learning programs
- Orient users in the functions of the library
- Work independently but within the framework of the School’s policies and procedures.
