Employment Type: 12 month, year round, benefits eligible position. Hourly full time (40 hrs/wk) during the school year and hourly part-time (20 hrs/wk) during summer breaks.
Expected Work Days/Hours: M-F 8:00 - 4:30 p.m. with evenings, Saturday and Sundays for events
The Admissions office is seeking to hire a new team member. The administrative assistant is usually the point of first contact with prospective parents; it is essential that they be consistently courteous, enthusiastic, and welcoming to adult and child visitors as well as articulate and well-informed about Paideia School. They should be technologically savvy, creative, organized, punctual, and eager to acquire new skills. We’re looking for someone who is an exceptional listener, a resourceful problem-solver, and capable of working efficiently and independently. The ability to be discreet and maintain strict confidentiality is crucial.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responding to and documenting all admissions phone calls and emails
- Helping to plan and host admissions events, including prospective family tours and visits, both parent and student interviews as well as on-campus and virtual programming.
- Functioning as the primary person to update, manage, and use our admissions portal, function as liaison with faculty in the use of our portal.
- Preparing admissions materials
- Other duties as assigned and varying depending on the timing in the admissions cycle
Required Skills and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be technologically savvy, creative, and eager to acquire new technical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree required
Working Conditions:
- Most work will be done in an office setting, either sitting or standing
- This job will require walking to other parts of the campus
- This job may require being outside in all weather conditions.
- 8:00 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. during the school year. Some evening and weekend work is required in the fall and winter (we expect three Saturdays in December). Three days of work are required during holiday break.
- Half-time during the school’s summer break (exact days/hours to be agreed upon with supervisor)
Physical Requirements:
Moderate physical effort may be required when helping with admissions events. Otherwise, low physical effort as most of the work is done at a desk setting. Modifications can be made as necessary.
Examples of physical exertion might include:
- giving a physical tour of campus
- setting up for admissions events (ex: moving folding tables and chairs)
- sitting for long periods of time
- long periods of computer work during certain times of the year
