Overview
The Spence School seeks a part-time (40%) photography teacher to begin in August 2022. This position represents an opportunity to join a dynamic team of multidisciplinary artists who engage students in a curriculum grounded in artistic technique, experimentation, critical engagement, and creative freedom. The ideal candidate is a working artist and lifelong learner who possesses a collaborative spirit and is committed to teaching students how artmaking can be a transformative experience for both themselves and the community around them.
Responsibilities
- Teach two Upper School courses, including analog black and white darkroom processes, digital photography, and 2D mixed media
- Participate in department-wide initiatives concerning issues of equity, pedagogy, and curriculum
- Manage darkroom and digital studio equipment and needs

- Demonstrates knowledge and experience teaching digital photography, including Photoshop, print output, and scanning
- Possesses a master’s degree or equivalent experience
