Position Description: People and Culture Analyst
The People and Culture Analyst position plays a vital role in helping to maintain excellence at Phillips Brooks School (PBS). Through their work as the primary steward of data in our HR systems and administrative processes in HR, they help to ensure an efficient and reliable employee experience.
They will play an equally important role in providing analysis and managing projects supporting PBS people and our inclusive culture.
The position will report to the Director of Finance/CFO, working on all HR administration processes, with a strong co-reporting relationship to the Associate Head of School, working on projects that support the development of PBS’s employees and workplace culture.
We are seeking someone who has at least 5 years of experience in HR and employee benefits processes, ideally with experience managing HR-related projects, and a sincere desire for personal and professional learning and development. The position will serve 64 internal customers – our faculty and staff – and will have the opportunity to make a major impact on the success of the school. A strong customer-service orientation is a key attribute for this newly structured role. Responsibilities
Human Resources Administration
- Employee onboarding and enrolling new employees in benefits
- Open enrollment for benefits with current employees
- Assist employees with benefits questions
- Assist employees with leaves of absence
- Compliance requirements (information to employees and various regulatory items)
- ACA Annual Reporting (working with our broker firm)
- Point person for Workers Compensation claims
- Employment agreements – manage e-signing and filing of annual agreements
- Organize buses for field trips
- Assist Controller with certain clerical transactions
- Substitute teachers onboarding/payroll
- Maintain school-day duty schedule
People and Culture Projects and Processes (these are examples)
- Conduct field scans across peer schools to identify best employee practices
- Develop data driven programs to support faculty and staff retention efforts
- Work on action-oriented recruiting strategies including supporting our external recruiting web pages and managing our employer brand
- Support community building events that prioritize inclusion and joyful gathering
- Support internal culture committees including the Community Forward committee
- Help ensure the school’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Justice (DEIJ) strategy and goals are implemented throughout the employee lifecycle process

Minimum experience
- 2 years experience with HR administration processes and systems
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Powerpoint, etc.) and data entry in various systems
Ideal experience and education
- 5 years experience with HR administration processes and systems
- Experience managing projects related to employee processes and benefits
- B.A./B.S. or Master’s degree in a relevant field
