General Description: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, performs custodial and general maintenance services required to maintain school buildings and adjacent ground areas in clean, orderly and secure condition. Perform basic cleaning, sanitation and minor maintenance of all buildings including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, etc. Provide high level customer service for school events and community activities including set-up and clean up. This position reports to the Director of Facilities.
Description of job tasks:
- Perform basic cleaning, sanitation and minor maintenance of all buildings including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, trash removal, etc. Basic sanitation and clean up of exterior ground areas.
- Interact with and assist faculty, students, parent volunteers, visitors, and groups to ensure needs are met regarding building use. Provide set up, tear down and cleaning activities for school and special events. Respond to requests, last minute needs, unscheduled events, changes, etc. regarding building use. Move and set up furniture as requested.
- Collaborate positively with other facility/maintenance staff to resolve issues, schedule work, plan projects, inspect the building, and coordinate building activity needs.
- Monitor and inspect building facilities for safety and cleanliness. Maintain and make minor repairs to the facility. Troubleshoot and report areas requiring maintenance to the supervisor. Notify the supervisor of hazardous or harmful situations.
- Secure facility by locking doors and setting alarms.
- Report supply and equipment needs to the supervisor.
- May operate mechanical cleaning equipment.
- Follow safety protocols when using mechanical equipment and power tools.
- Operate safely the maintenance electric golf carts.
- Overtime (paid) may be required routinely.

- Moderate to heavy lifting
- Reaching, stretching, stooping, pulling, pushing, twisting, kneeling, crouching, squatting and manual dexterity.
- Driving electric golf carts and operating a variety of power tools.

Requirements:
- Must be able to pass a LiveScan background check
- Possession of a valid California Driver's license
- Ability to carry out oral and written instructions in English
- Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
- Mathematics- Ability to use simple math to solve problems.
- Basic knowledge of computers including sending and receiving email communications.
- Ability to work with and be part of a team
- Basic computer literacy
- Must be responsive via email, text, phone
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions
- Will need to complete certification classes in CPR and Basic First Aid
