Camp Background
Benchmark School, founded in 1970, is an independent coeducational day school serving bright children in grades 1 through 6 who have been identified as having dyslexia, ADHD, auditory processing or language-based learning differences. The camp also serves students whose parents want them to have additional help in language arts during the summer.
The camp is in session from June 27 to July 29 (closed on July 4). Teaching assistants are expected to be in the building from 7:30 AM until 12:30 PM when camp is in session. There is an inservice program for new teachers from June 21 - June 24. Teaching assistants are invited to attend from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM daily.

Job Description/Responsibilities
Benchmark School is seeking applicants for a part-time summer language arts teaching assistant with an ability to work, in cooperation with a head teacher, with a small group of children on reading, writing, and executive function skills.
Qualifications
- Some classroom experience preferred
- Education majors who are college juniors and seniors are encouraged to apply.
