Green Acres is looking for an experienced educator with a background in progressive education, curriculum and professional development. This position will entail:
- Collaborating with teachers on completing their curriculum maps using the Atlas Rubicon software tool.
- Organizing a vertical and horizontal curricular review, analysis, and articulation of each subject area, K-8, involving teachers and Division Heads.
- Determining how to organize, share, and keep updated the school’s curriculum on the Green Acres web site.
- Matching teachers and staff members to appropriate professional development opportunities to ensure professional growth and use of best practices.
- Implementing the new staff orientation and mentoring programs in collaboration with the Division Heads. These programs place a strong focus on progressive education and its impact on teaching and learning. Mentoring meetings with new staff members occur monthly.
- Collaborating with the Division Heads and Head of School to create, maintain, and communicate the Wednesday staff meeting schedule.
- Collaborate with the Division Heads to plan professional development days.
