Mayfield Junior School seeks to employ a Human Resources Coordinator. The Human Resource Coordinator aids with and facilitates the human resource processes. This role administers employee health and welfare plans and acts as liaison between employees and insurance providers. This position resolves benefits-related problems and ensures effective use of plans and positive employee relations. The Human Resource Coordinator makes that certain plans are administered in accordance with federal and state regulations and that plan provisions are followed. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and HRIS entry.
The Human Resources Coordinator is expected to be a conceptual thinker with fantastic organizational and time management skills. Will have excellent administrative and IT skills with the ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment. The Human Resources Coordinator should display strong problem solving and decision-making skills with a deep understanding of employee relationships, staffing management and payroll. Top candidates will be fantastic at managing conflict, effective at scheduling and thorough in the recruitment process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administers health and welfare plans, including enrollments, changes and terminations.
- Processes required documents through payroll and insurance providers to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
- Submits investigation requests and assists with new-employee background checks.
- Reconciles benefits statements.
- Conducts audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs and recommends corrective action.
- Assists with processing of terminations.
- Assists with the preparation of the performance review process.
- Assists with recruitment and interview process. Tracks status of candidates in HRIS and responds with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
- Schedules meetings and interviews as requested.
- Makes photocopies; mails, scans and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
- Files documents into appropriate employee files.
- Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
- Prepares new-employee files.
- Processes mail.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
- At least two years related experience required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
EQUIPMENT USED
Operates standard office equipment: computer, 10-key, copier, telephone, check scanner, and other related equipment. Uses Raisers Edge, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe, Photoshop, and Crystal Reports.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret accounting and general office documents. Ability to write basic business correspondence, and memos. Ability to interact effectively with school officials, other employees, parents and students, volunteers, visitors, and representatives from other organizations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
