Riverdale Country School is looking for a Technology Support Specialist to join our technology team in a full-time, 12-month position, starting July 1, 2022. This position reports to the Lower School Associate Director of Technology and is based at our River Campus (Lower School), but may include responsibilities that extend to the Hill campus (Middle & Upper School).
The Technology Support Specialist is a helpdesk-based first responder who springs into action when technology issues interfere with school operations. You will work in a high-functioning and collegial Technology Department in which individuals contribute positively to its collaborative culture. We expect you to say “I’m not sure, I’ll find out who we should talk to” or “Let’s make sure I understand this..." as needed while working in our community. We hope you are a self-starter that sees problems, proposes solutions, and is eager to learn new things. We have a diverse technological environment with iPads, Macs, Chromebooks, TVs, AppleTVs, interactive projectors, and more to maintain.
Your responsibilities will generally involve typical Level 1 and Level 2 helpdesk tasks including:
- maintaining and fixing classroom A/V equipment;
- setting up and running A/V equipment for presentations and assemblies;
- handling and purchasing Technology Department inventory;
- replenishing and repairing our fleet of printers and copiers;
- solving problems, repairing and imaging school-owned devices;
- ensuring our loaner pool is in great shape and ready for action;
- staffing our helpdesk while providing impeccable customer service;
- supporting Professional Development led by our technology team;
- supporting academic tools such as Lexia, Dreambox, Schoology, Seesaw, Zoom, Clever, etc.;
- climbing 6’ ladders;
- carrying 15-35lb. objects.
Two or more years of professional helpdesk or similar experience is required. Also highly valued are:
- excellent people skills;
- strong verbal and written communication skills;
- a detail-oriented, organized approach to work;
- a fantastic memory or system to replicate one;
- and grace in thorny situations.
