Founded in 1930, The Tatnall School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school situated on a pastoral, 110-acre campus in Greenville, Delaware, near Wilmington. Tatnall includes four academic divisions with 500 students from age 3 through grade 12. The Tatnall School is seeking a science teacher for our Early Childhood (PK3, PK4, K) and Lower School (grades 1-4). The science curriculum is a project-based program that employs the scientific method and hands-on experiential learning. The ideal candidate should be someone who is enthusiastic about teaching science outdoors using our 110-acre campus. This teacher should appreciate an active and collaborative learning environment and value the importance of building authentic relationships with students.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching science classes (PK3 - 4th grade)
- Teaching science outdoors regularly
- Maintaining lab materials and ensuring safety precautions are followed by students
- Maintaining outdoor spaces and certifications
- Building authentic relationships with students, families, and co-workers
- Committing to diversity, equity and community through culturally responsive teaching practices
- Integrating technology into the curriculum
- Collaborating with faculty regularly
