Academic Support Specialist, Goshen Campus (June 2022)

Francis Parker School is a co-ed Independent School founded in the Progressive tradition that is committed to equity and justice and located in Louisville, Kentucky.  Our campuses are in two locations – Goshen (Preschool - 8th) and Downtown (High School).  We have a comprehensive learning center to support student needs on both campuses. We seek a full-time Academic Support Specialist Primarily to serve our Goshen Campus, but there may also be work on our Downtown Campus, beginning in the 2022-23 school year. This is a full-time, salaried position. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least a bachelor’s degree, experience in working with students with learning differences, some background in math, and the ability to coach students with ongoing projects and assignments. This position will primarily serve our middle school, but may include some work in the lower or high school divisions. A passion for working with children, as well as dedication to continuously developing and practicing cultural competence are also essential. The position will involve coaching students in organizational management and executive functioning skills, tutoring students in specific content areas, primarily math, and supporting students’ general academic needs. We seek an independent self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability and desire to work collaboratively. Hours during the school year are approximately 8:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Summer hours vary, but will include leading a summer academic camp.
