Position: Full-time
Reports to: Religious Studies Department Chair
Level: Middle School and High School Courses: 8th grade Religious Studies: Church History, 9th grade Religious Studies: Old Testament, 10th grade Religious Studies: New Testament
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Church History and the study of Sacred Scripture
- Plan, structure, and implement interactive lessons that develop students’ faith, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Effectively use appropriate technology and tools in the teaching of Religious Studies
- Collaborate with department members on curriculum and instruction
- Keep students and parents well informed of student progress by providing timely feedback
- Perform additional supervisory duties
- Design Assessments that accurately measure mastery of content
Experience/Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Religious Education/Religious Studies/Theology
- Prior high school and/or middle school teaching experience
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic
