Windermere Preparatory School is located on a beautiful 48-acre campus in Southwest Orange County. Windermere Preparatory School's academic approach is built on complex problem solving and critical thinking, emphasizes intellectual, personal, emotional and social growth, and culminates with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.
We are currently seeking a collaborative, dynamic, and experienced Curriculum and Instructional Specialist. The ideal candidate will have the ability to successfully provide the leadership and expertise required to guide the faculty in the development, implementation, and supervision of a learning program that is aligned with WPS mission and philosophy.
Roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with the division Directors to promote a culture of learning and student success by providing instructional leadership and coaching across subject areas.
- Work collaboratively with other designated leaders to align scope and sequence both vertically and horizontally.
- Advance the school’s focus within the curriculum on diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
- Establish PLCs to meet regularly with grade level teams and content area departments and/or individuals to support their unique needs in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment.
- Play an active role in guiding faculty to create units of study that meet standards while providing opportunities for student agency through performance tasks.
- Work collaboratively with the division Directors to conduct classroom observations and provide regular feedback to assist in the faculty members' professional growth
- Model lessons, co-teach lessons, and hold coaching sessions with teachers that demonstrate the best instructional strategies.
- Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating staff development based on identified needs, current educational research, and best practices.
- Assist in the selection and management of instructional materials and educational software on a regular cycle.
- Other duties as assigned by administration
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in curriculum and instruction, educational administration or related field;
- Master’s Degree preferred;
- 3+ years experience in a similar role;
- 5+ years classroom teaching experience (Lower School and/or Middle School);
- Familiarity with a variety of curriculum frameworks
- Experience with International Baccalaureate
- Experience developing, organizing and implementing programs;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Google Suite experience preferred
