Friends Select School seeks a highly organized, collaborative, motivated, and interpersonally skilled colleague to help the lower school function efficiently and effectively by providing administrative support and assistance to the lower school director, assistant director, faculty, students, and families.
Support and Assist the Lower School Director and Assistant Director in the following ways:
- Provide a welcoming and helpful atmosphere in the Lower School Office
- Develop and/or manage effective and efficient systems for lower school
- Manage logistical operations for the lower school (schedules, calendars, attendance, files, reimbursements and spending, substitutes, arrival and dismissal, field trip logistics, etc.
- Manage delivery of communications with faculty and families (e.g. weekly parent bulletin, faculty newsletters, parent handbook, student reports, etc.)
- Coordinate lower school events (e.g. Director’s coffees, Back to School Night, annual picnic)
- Collaborate and coordinate with other divisions and departments
Desired qualities and qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or other equivalent professional credentials required
- Experience assisting top-level administrator or executive
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work
- Ability to engage with all constituents that make up a pre-k to 4th grade school, including students, staff, and parents
- Exceptional communications skills, both written and spoken
- Flexibility
- Positive, upbeat attitude
- Desire and strong ability to collaborate
- Understanding of and commitment to confidentiality
- Technical fluency with Google Workspace and database systems (experience with Blackbaud a bonus)
- Experience in a school environment preferred
- Commitment to Quaker values, social justice and anti-racism
