The Chapin School seeks a part-time Upper School Ancient Languages (Latin and Greek) Teacher who, as a member of the World Languages Department, will teach two sections of Latin, and possibly Ancient Greek. This is a 50% position.
The World Languages Department is a K-12 group of language educators and global citizens who are passionate about preparing students to thrive in a multilingual and multicultural world. At Chapin, our students develop a high level of proficiency in at least one language other than English. At the same time, they explore and celebrate the authentic voices of their language/s of study and gain a deeper understanding of cultural identity through art, history, literature, and other cultural products of the speakers and thinkers of those languages. The World Languages Department believes that all students can be polyglots and that the ability to communicate in languages other than one’s own is imperative if we are to become brave, compassionate, and respectful citizens and leaders in a diverse world.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Classical Languages required
- Minimum 2 years experience working with students
Preferred:
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Additional languages a plus (French or Spanish)
- High School teaching experience
