Ross School (East Hampton, NY) seeks a Teacher for Upper School Wellness for the 2022–2023 academic year. The primary objective of this faculty position is educating and providing Wellness education that fosters skills, attitudes, and strategies that empower students and the School community to make intelligent and healthy life choices.
The Wellness curriculum encompasses studies and practices in Eastern and Western wellness disciplines for physical fitness, health, and well-being; development of sportsmanship and athletic skills and performance through team and individual sports, and comprehensive adolescent health education. Ross Wellness Domain seeks to establish a balance between individual and collective achievement, with an emphasis on mindfulness, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence through shared experience and teamwork.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in holistic adolescent and community wellness education and the ability to design and deliver sequential learning experiences for physical fitness as well as skills and knowledge in socio-emotional resilience and self-care.

Instructional Responsibilities

Plan and deliver education and instruction for the Middle and High School students of the Wellness curriculum while understanding the developmental and emotional needs of each student, ensuring student safety, identifying student issues, and managing and assessing student performance.
Duties and Responsibilities

Create, implement and document curriculum under the direction of the Domain Dean, Director of Academics, and in coordination with Division Heads

Serve as a mentor to Ross Senior Projects

Participate in responsibilities of Student Life throughout the year, assigned based on school needs.

Qualifications
> Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required. Advanced degree preferred.
> Minimum one (1) year prior teaching experience in a related discipline required. Three (3) or more years is preferred.
