Position Summary: Interlochen seeks a one-year interim instructor of voice for the 22-23 Academy Year. Successful candidates may be considered for the permanent voice position in the 23-24 school year. Familiarity with all forms of vocal instruction, including classical, pop, jazz, singer-songwriter, and musical theatre is essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide Vocal Instruction in private lessons and studio class in various performance mediums including: Popular Voice, Singer-Songwriter, Musical Theater, Jazz Voice

Provide appropriate evaluation, grading, attendance and evaluations of student progress as required by the music department.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administration.

Teach one-on-one lessons in the voice studio

Aid students in college audition preparation, and have the resources available to guide students in the college application process.

Hold weekly studio class.

Maintain an advisory group and attend community meetings.

Have a focus on healthy voice and tone production for young students.

Prioritize duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
Masters of Music in Voice or Doctor of Musical Arts in Voice preferred
Experience:
At least 1-2 years of successful teaching experience.
Equipment Familiarity:
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Sufficient piano abilities to run lessons.

Ability to run sectionals

Assist with opera workshop

Coaching diction
Physical Demands:
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35 lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation, and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
