At Berkshire Country Day School (BCD), we are engaged in an educational program that goes beyond our classrooms. Berkshire Country Day School serves students in Preschool (beginning at age 2) through Eighth Grade.
The Opportunity:
BCD seeks a creative, energetic, organized fund-raiser with excellent communication and
technology skills to manage the annual fund, special events, research prospects, make
solicitations, and coordinate all other development functions. The Director has primary
responsibility for all fundraising activities on campus and works collaboratively with the Head of School, the administrative team, trustees, and parent volunteers.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinate all fundraising efforts on campus, including the annual fund campaign and
parent and alumni events.
• Manage all aspects of fundraising including gratitude and donor cultivation.
• Create a strong sense of community on campus that is united around supporting
the activities of the school. Organize volunteer recruitment and management.
• Partner with the admin team to develop alumni programs and follow up.
• Work with the Head of School to develop donor relations and, ultimately, solicit
donations.

• Maintain the development databases and other necessary supporting documentation.
• Plan and organize, with complete oversight all school events including back-to-school
events, Grandparents Day, Head of School receptions, and parent and alumni events.
• Serve as the parent liaison for parent volunteer committees.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to curate the content of advancement pages of the website and to grow BCD’s online presence
Qualifications:
• Prior successful fundraising/development experience is a plus.
• A bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience with development databases is desirable. Experience with Little Green Light is a plus.
• Attention to accuracy, confidentiality, details, and deadlines is required.
• Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team is very important.
• Interest in and commitment to fund-raising for education critical.
• Strong writing and speaking skills are necessary.
Compensation:
Compensation is based upon experience.
