Job Summary:
BB&N is seeking a technology support specialist. The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for providing direct technology support to faculty, administrators, staff, and students, implementing and maintaining a wide range of technology resources on both the lower and middle school campuses.
Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate is approachable, knowledgeable, and eager to be an active member of a dynamic learning community. The candidate must have 2 years of work experience with some or all of the following systems: Computers (Mac and PC) and network technologies, databases (Veracross), learning management systems (Canvas), Zoom phone, Informacast, online learning tools, printers and peripherals, a variety of software applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, email, web browsers, HTML editors, and image manipulation software). Experience servicing and installing AV equipment such as projectors, interactive whiteboards, and audio systems.
In addition, the ideal candidate will be able to:
- Provide technical support for internal end users on a variety of hardware and software problems including operating system support, application support, system access problems, and database support.
- Provide general support for classroom computing devices, projectors, Chromebooks, iPads, Apple TV’s, SmartBoards, printers, etc., by troubleshooting issues, and helping users with basic instructions on the use of these devices.
- Maintain Help Desk tracking system and respond to tickets in a timely manner.
- Assist with the management of network accounts: Active Directory, Google Apps, etc.
- Assist with the removal of obsolete equipment and manage equipment deployment and life cycles.
- Create technical documentation and procedures, and serve as a resource for training materials in response to faculty, staff, and/or student inquiries for technical support.
- Support events with AV setup as requested that may extend beyond normal work hours.
- Effectively prioritize work requests and work occasional long hours.
