Ransom Everglades School is seeking applications for a full time Athletic Operations and Communications Assistant, beginning August 15, 2022. This position works with the athletic department administrative team, assisting with the operations of the athletics department, including but not limited to logistics, game management, facilities management, and equipment management, and coordinates communication for the Ransom Everglades athletic programs. Collaborations with coaches, athletics staff, and the school’s office of communications, the candidate will ensure compelling and wide-ranging communications about the full range of sports, teams, and activities of the athletics department in a manner that is consistent with school communications policies and protocols. Responsibilities include coordinating department social media efforts, photography, videography and, at the discretion of the Director of Communications, serving as a liaison with local media outlets.
Additional duties, likely to include coaching, will depend on the experience and interests of the successful candidate. Candidates with experience in strength and conditioning, lacrosse, baseball, sailing, soccer or volleyball who can contribute to the distinctiveness of the Ransom Everglades community are especially encouraged to apply.
Ransom Everglades School spans two campuses that include two gymnasiums, two turf fields, an Aquatic Center, fitness rooms on both campuses, training facilities on both campuses, and several off-campus competition venues for baseball, softball, track and field, golf, and tennis. A professional coaching staff is composed of Ransom Everglades faculty members and other experienced coaches in their respective sports. Most Ransom Everglades students are on at least one athletic team, and many play more than one sport.
Ransom Everglades is seeking candidates with strong communication skills and a passion for working with students. Work hours are flexible for the coordinator depending on the athletics schedule and season and the specific duties (especially coaching) assigned to the candidate based on their experience and expertise. Therefore, candidates must be prepared to make a commitment to variations in work hours of the position. Applications must have at least a Bachelor’s degree; a Master’s degree is preferred. Up to date CPR, First Aid, and AED certification are required, or must be pursued immediately upon hiring. Physical Requirements include the ability to respond to emergencies, respond quickly to sounds, move safely over wet, uneven terrain or in confined spaces, and see and respond to dangerous situations.
