Job Summary:
The Videographer is the school’s visual storyteller and will be responsible for shooting and editing videos that highlight and celebrate the mission, work, and community of Catlin Gabel School. These videos will be both short- and long-form video content and will be shared through a variety of channels, including web, social media, and emails. This role requires someone who is a creative content producer who thrives when working independently but also values being part of a small, creative team. The audio and visuals developed will primarily support initiatives related to enrollment, community engagement, brand awareness, and advancement. Additional skill sets in photography would be beneficial, but are not required. This is a part-time position, salaried position that is designed to be approximately 20 hours a week for ten months (end of August - mid-June) and includes a robust benefits package.
Salary: $21,500-$25,800/year

Job Responsibilities:
- Serves as the school’s visual storyteller, capturing the stories and experiences of our community through compelling audio and visual content to drive engagement that is shared across channels, including web, social, and email.
- Collaborates with the marketing and communications team, as well as others to create and develop ideas, as well as provide guidance on best ways to execute concepts from a production and storytelling lens.
- Executes shoots on site/on location including audio, camera operation and talent direction. Additionally handles assignments requiring special lighting, multiple locations, custom graphics. Scouts shoot locations to assess equipment needs and any potential obstacles achieving the goals of the shoot.
- Completes post-production tasks including reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, audio adjustment, color correction, adding music and/or graphics, and final editing using post-production software (Adobe Premiere preferred); compresses/encodes video projects for output; makes video products available in a variety of formats; observes brand standards, and coordinates closed captioning before releasing assets.
- Manage all video assets with a robust categorization system.
- BA or BS in film, photography, or journalism related-field preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in videography work required
- Experience preferred in photography to support social, web, and print needs. Could include taking photos at a variety of campus events and activities, ranging from arts and athletics to classroom projects and student life experiences to casual portraits of students and teachers in a campus setting.
- Previous experience in a nonprofit organization or independent/private school in a content-creation role is preferred.
