Allendale Columbia School seeks a Director of Maintenance & Facilities able to strategically manage and steward our 33-acre campus and increase revenue with year-around use. The Director of Maintenance & Facilities will be responsible for overall campus and building operations. This individual will be responsible for supporting the strategic vision for our campus as well as the infrastructure and daily operations. The candidate for this position must have equal parts strategic capacity and operational acumen and should be effective at collaborating and executing with teams throughout the organization.
The Director plays a vital role in the Allendale Columbia School community, reporting to the Chief Financial & Operations Officer, providing leadership for and directing all aspects of campus usage and operations. The Director is a critical and collaborative leader responsible for a team of colleagues that work year-round with all faculty and staff of the School. The Director will be responsible for taking initiative to lead a campus master plan, conduct research on best practices, collaborate with our Buildings and Grounds Committee, and be a leader in the field of facilities and operations.
Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

develop & manage the budget for facilities and operations;

strategically manage preventative maintenance of all mechanical equipment;

oversee efficient, and cost effective operations including management and adequate inventory of all necessary supplies and parts;

manage maintenance and environmental services staff insuring proper training and safety standards are adhered to;

focus on maximizing the use of our campus for alternative revenue in accordance with the School’s master calendar;

identify and develop specifications for capital maintenance projects, routine repairs and plans for deferred maintenance;

serve as project manager for campus projects;
-
ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations;

manage the School’s security system;
-
work with the Director of Information Technology to maintain and upgrade the technology infrastructure;

manage shipping & receiving of packages;

perform hands-on facilities tasks as needed;

Maintain the school’s HVAC system

perform all other duties as assigned by the Head of School or CFOO.
Qualifications:
-
A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Engineering or Construction Management;

a minimum of five (5) years of experience in infrastructure and building management
-
a minimum of three (3) years experience as an effective leader in supervisory capacity;

excellent communication skills, a strategic and growth mindset;

knowledge of leading-edge technology, particularly its infrastructure;

a valid New York driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record. CDL is an advantage;
