AIM Academy is currently seeking a long-term substitute teacher for a Grade 4 classroom beginning on October 17, 2022 and concluding on February 10, 2023. The substitute teacher will be responsible for implementing AIM’s curriculum and utilizing Lower School routines and procedures with consistency. They will also be responsible for developing lesson plans, homework assignments, and assessments for the following subjects: reading, writing, math, comprehensive literacy, and social studies.
The substitute teacher will collaborate with the Grade 4 team to discuss student work, share best practices, and ensure student progress. In addition, the substitute teacher will be expected to form and maintain positive relationships with students’ families, including periodic phone calls and attendance at parent conferences. The teacher will be invited to participate in any professional development opportunities being offered to the Grade 4 team.
AIM is looking for an instructor who is committed to collegiality and has high expectations for all students. The ideal candidate will have certification in elementary/special education and Wilson instruction. Non certified candidates will still be considered. Prior experience teaching students with language-based learning differences is strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
-Elementary/Special Education Teacher Certification
-Pennsylvania or Private Academic Certification
-Wilson Certification preferred
-Excellent organizational and communication skills
-Exemplary classroom management skills
-Ability to positively and productively relate to students
-Ability to adjust instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners
-Open to feedback from an instructional support team
-Experience with technology integration
-COVID vaccination and booster or exemption
