Founded in 1964, School Year Abroad (SYA) is a non-profit, independent school with campuses in France, Italy and Spain. SYA is the only secondary-level program which requires students to live with a host family for an entire academic year while earning U.S. graduation credits and preparing for admission to selective U.S. colleges and universities. The central elements of SYA, the homestay and an academic program emphasizing foreign language acquisition, ensure that students become fully fluent in language and culture.
SYA is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Advancement Services Coordinator whose responsibilities include the management of the Raiser’s Edge NXT database; gift entry, acknowledgement and reporting; and providing support for Advancement communications and events. This is a great opportunity to work for a non-traditional, internationally oriented school with a small home office presence in the U.S. Primary duties are outlined below and other duties may be assigned.
Management of Raiser’s Edge NXT Database
- Design and generate complex financial, prospect/donor, event, and analytical reports using queries, exports and merges.
- Add and maintain constituent records, using imports and global adds for larger groups.
- Create and perform data integrity checks to ensure that data is accurate, complete and captured in a manner consistent with the needs of the organization.
- Maintain documentation of Raiser’s Edge NXT policies, procedures, and proper use of attributes, notes, actions, and other fields.
- Provide in-house expertise and support to end-users on database and software-related issues, ensuring that staff uses Raiser’s Edge NXT consistently and correctly, and troubleshooting as issues arise. Provide training as appropriate.
- Oversee database wealth screening, conduct prospect research, and build the prospect pipeline.
- Coordinate user access and security and remain informed on software updates, upgrades and additional services.
Gift Processing, Acknowledgment and Reporting
- Enter and acknowledge gifts; report on annual, capital, and endowment giving campaigns.
- Manage online giving and generate statistical reports.
- Conduct quarterly reconciliations for all gifts and written pledges with the Business Office.
- Maintain and safeguard gift and payment information in accordance with applicable privacy and data security laws, and ensure that records are complete and up to date.
Mailings
- Generate mailing lists for all Advancement communications with appropriate segmentations.
- Notate appeals and communications on individual records.
Event Support
- Create and maintain online event registration form.
- Track event registrations and attendance on individual records.
- Provide support at events, as needed, occasionally on evenings and weekends.
BENEFITS:
- Health insurance with health savings account contributions
- Dental insurance
- Long-term disability
- Life and AD&D Insurance
- 403(b) retirement contributions
- Paid vacation, sick time and holidays
Required Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Raiser's Edge NXT fundraising software (or a similar software package).
- At least 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in a nonprofit and/or school setting.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and apply new technologies as needed.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines.
- High level of energy and an excellent customer service ethic.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments.
- Highly resourceful team player, with the ability to also be effective working independently.
