General Statement of Duties
Fairfield Country Day School (FCDS) is a leading independent boys day school in Fairfield, Connecticut for students in kindergarten through grade nine. FCDS seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated professional to provide critical support for the school’s Development Department.
The Development Associate is responsible for the overall management of the constituent database (Raiser's Edge) and working with the Director of Development on the School's annual giving program. He/She will take primary responsibility for the accurate and timely entry of donations and the gift acknowledgement system. This position works closely with all members of the school community including: faculty and staff, current parents, alumni, parents of alumni, and grandparents. The ability to build relationships, communicate clearly and effectively, and help manage multiple projects is essential.
Specific Responsibilities
- Responsible for accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the data maintained in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge / RE NXT
- Execute and coordinate annual fund solicitation mailing of all constituencies
- Gift entry, receipt, and acknowledgement program
- Generate donor lists, mailing lists, fundraising updates and customized reports as needed by DOD and Head of School
- Serve as a liaison between the Development Office and the Business Office, and generate quarterly reconciliation reports for audit
- Track event RSVPs and generate event name tags when applicable
- Assist with alumni engagement efforts throughout the year including managing class notes, supporting alumni reunion and other gatherings, assisting with alumni fundraising efforts, supporting alumni outcomes and story/editorial efforts.
- Provide support for events, including fundraising, cultivation, alumni events, and other school gatherings
- Discretion and confidentiality at all times
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree and at least two years of fundraising experience, preferably in the educational environment
- Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Google Suite, comfort with databases (Blackbaud’s The Raiser’s Edge /RE NXT database experience required), and insight into emergent technologies
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, ability to multi-task
- This position may require occasional evening and weekend work
