The Agnes Irwin School is an All-Girls College Preparatory Day School for Grades Pre-Kindergarten through 12 with enrollment of approximately 600 students and is accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools. The school is located on 18 acres in Rosemont, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The Agnes Irwin School supports nearly 200 employees across six distinct administrative divisions and three academic divisions. The Agnes Irwin provides girls with a deep foundation in the humanities, mathematics and science, wellness, and athletics.
The Agnes Irwin School is seeking a Director of Auxiliary Programs to envision, design, implement, oversee, and grow the non-tuition, revenue generating programs offered during the summer and after school, and to manage the leasing of the school’s facilities.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of financial and administrative management and help establish and direct the short term and long-term goals, policies, and procedures for AIS auxiliary programs
- Accountable for creation and management of all AIS auxiliary programs (Summer, After School) including the design, planning, organization, and management of the programs – active, artistic, and academic
- Responsible for staffing all auxiliary programs; provide staff orientation and appropriate training and resources
- Collaborate with other AIS units and stakeholders to successfully implement various programs and services to support students, faculty, staff, and other school constituents
- Responsible for ensuring the programs are mission appropriate and designed/maintained in a high-quality manner by setting goals and ensuring those goals are attained
- Work with the Chief Financial Officer to create a process for assessing the financial viability of the various programs grounded in data and analysis
- Oversee use of the building for after-hours programs in cooperation with Athletic Director and CFO or other school constituents
- Ensure that Auxiliary Programs meet all standards set forth by The Agnes Irwin School policies and procedures
- Managing internal and external school calendars
The successful candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s degree, business management and/or advanced degree preferred
- 3 -5 years operational leadership experience required, non-profit experience preferred
- 1-2 years of education-based, program management experience, with program management of summer/structured camp, clinic or after school program experience preferred
- Proven ability to strategize and provide hands-on implementation of initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to consistently maintain a sense of perspective while responding to diverse and changing priorities, environments, and personalities
- Ability to work as a team leader and as a contributing team member in an educational environment
- Strong interpersonal skills to include being cooperative, congenial, and service-oriented and able to manage students in a courteous and effective manner
- Proficiency with use of computer technology, office, and audiovisual equipment as they pertain to the essential functions of this position
- Ability to complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision, and work in an environment subject to interruptions
- Outstanding communication skills to include the ability to use clear, concise, and grammatically correct written and verbal language in all aspects of professional interaction with students, parents, peers, administration, and the general public
Physical Demands:
- Adequate physical mobility, dexterity, strength, and endurance to actively navigate an office environment
- Ability to occasionally lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs. from ground level and to carry them for short distances
- Ability to frequently stand and walk for limited periods of time, and often sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to regularly perform the repetitive movement of fingers and hands for keyboarding
