Virgin Islands Montessori School & Peter Gruber International Academy is a Montessori/IB school with about 300 students (toddler through 12th grade) on the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Thomas in the Caribbean. We are a non-profit, independent, private, international school that is looking for quality teachers who have a passion for teaching. Our small school community is one that focuses on a philosophy of "Education for Life" through a true dedication to our core values, our mission statement and our profile of a graduate which aims to create responsible, caring, internationally-minded young people. We pride ourselves on being a green school that is 100% solar powered and always environmentally conscious. We work just as hard on building quality character in our students as we do in building academic skills. Three crucial attributes embody the types of students and staff members we have at our school - passionate about learning, dedicated to service and of the highest integrity/character. All stakeholders (parents, teachers, administrators, board members) at our school have one thing in common - we put learning first. Our tri-accreditation of Association Montessori International (AMI...), International Baccalaureate (IB) and Middle States Association (MSA) leads our students to dual high school diplomas after experiencing a detailed academic continuum that focuses on the acquisition of strong academic skills. We have a Spanish Infusion program, as well as focus on Mathematics and Science. Our graduates are attending their first choice, top tier colleges and universities, such as: Harvard, Brown, US Naval Academy, etc.
