Christian Brothers Academy in Lincroft, NJ seeks a Director of Annual Giving to develop, manage, and execute a comprehensive giving program continuously working on achieving the school’s fundraising goals, both monetarily and in participation. A highly motivated professional interested in secondary school advancement, the Director of Annual Giving will report to the Director of Advancement. The Director will manage programs such as donor appeal and recognition mailings, phonathons/phone appeals, special events, volunteer identification and recruiting, volunteer training/supervision, donor recognition society program, as well as special programs and events. As an active member of the CBA community, the Director will interact with staff, faculty, students, families, alumni. As such, the Director is an advocate for the school representing all students, staff, and faculty and thereby promoting the school’s mission and philosophy. Additional work will include the school sponsored events exceeding the normal workday or workweek.
The Advancement office raises more than $1 million annually from a constituency of over 11,000 alumni and 1,800 current parents, as well as past parents, grandparents and others. The Trustees and the President desire to increase unrestricted annual giving, through identification and cultivation efforts. The Director of Annual Giving will be a key player in each of these efforts.
Bachelor’s degree, plus relevant related work experience (3-5 years advancement experience preferred). The qualified candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbally and in print; be highly organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize efficiently in a fast paced environment; work well independently and enjoy working collaboratively with members of a small department, proven proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and prior experience working with Raiser’s Edge or a comparable fundraising database; familiarity with on-line and library research sources, including biographical and financial materials is preferred. The right candidate will be discrete, maintain confidentiality and have a strong commitment to high quality work and attention to detail. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
