The Baldwin School seeks applicants for the position of a full-time Middle and Upper School Science Teacher for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year. All Baldwin teachers participate in the life of the School and support the School’s mission. This position will include three sections of 8th grade Earth Science/Chemistry and one section of Environmental Science in 12th grade.
The successful candidate will possess excellent content knowledge, effective classroom
management skills and a knowledge of how to assess and grade students’ progress. The
candidate will possess a love of working with students and creating a joyful learning
environment where students are inspired and empowered to learn; creativity and a thirst for innovation; a high level of energy and flexibility; a reflective and growth-oriented mindset; a commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning; an understanding of and appreciation for girls' education; and a sense of humor.
Responsibilities:
? Develop and teach Middle and Upper School science curriculum in support of The
Baldwin School’s Mission Statement.
? Differentiate instruction and materials to meet the diverse academic, social and
emotional needs of learners in the classroom.
? Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary and project-based learning
curricular experiences.
? Collaborate with Science Department colleagues to maintain a spiraling curriculum
across all divisions.
? Assess student progress and adjust teaching plans accordingly; provide students with
regular and timely feedback about their progress.
? Attend regular department meetings as well as faculty meetings and professional
development days.
? Maintain strong communication with colleagues, families, and administration.
? Maintain professionalism, positivity, and good humor in the face of challenges and
change.
? Participate as a full member of the faculty and demonstrate a willingness to engage
actively in The Baldwin School community in an appropriate and visible way

Qualifications:
? Bachelor’s Degree and course work in related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
? 3-5 years teaching experience.
? Experience integrating technology, including Google applications, laptops, SMART
Board, etc., into teaching practice to support learning and deepen projects.
? Enthusiasm for embracing the independent school model of mentoring, advising and
supporting students outside the classroom.
? A commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community that allows for a multitude
of perspectives to be heard and respected.
? Experience in ISEF-affiliated science fairs desirable.
? Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication (written and verbal).
