Benchmark School, founded in 1970, is an independent coeducational day school serving bright children in grades 1 through 8 who have been identified as having dyslexia, ADHD, auditory processing or language-based learning differences.
Job Description/Responsibilities
Benchmark School is seeking applicants for a full-time lower school co-teacher with an ability to work with a head teacher using various co-teaching models of instruction to best meet the needs of students, and with a larger team, including a supervisor, psychologist, and content area teachers. The successful candidate will provide research-based instruction in all aspects of literacy and content for a lower school class.
The school seeks a teacher with an ability to provide explicit instruction within the context of a project- or inquiry-based instructional framework and who will demonstrate an openness to learn and grow professionally. The successful candidate will be a clear communicator with colleagues and parents and a role model for lower school students.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum two years of teaching experience at the lower school level is preferred.
