?Job Title: Part-Time Math Specialist (15 hours/week)

Job Summary:
The Stanley Clark School seeks a student-centered and highly collaborative Math Specialist to partner with teachers to help students develop deep mathematical understanding. This part-time (15 hours/week) position provides extra practice or enrichment opportunities with small groups of students in grades K-8 who have a wide range of mathematical skills and abilities. The Math Specialist also contributes to the overall culture of professional learning at Stanley Clark by serving as a resource for teachers in the field of math instruction. Ideal candidates will have previous teaching experience and be motivated to stay informed about best practices in teaching math at the elementary and middle school levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers in grades K-8 to provide a combination of small group extra practice for children who struggle in math or enrichment opportunities to help students who have mastered the basics go deeper, as determined by the classroom teacher.
- Use and analyze data (diagnostic, standardized, formative) to inform instruction with students and make curricular decisions.
- Serve as a resource for teachers in the instruction of math.
- Maintain a consistent and predictable schedule (i.e., 3 days a week for five hours at a time).
- Support the school’s mission and contribute positively to the school’s culture of partnership between faculty, administration, parents, and students.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree, master’s degree preferred
Experience: Prior experience teaching

- Adept and passionate about math instruction
- A passion for nurturing and championing each child’s strengths and passions
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
- Ability to work well with colleagues in support of a common goal
- Spirit of professionalism with all school community members
- A desire to learn and stay up to date with best practices in math instruction
