PE Teacher Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Teach physical education classes to children in preschool- grade 6
• Establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and challenging classroom environment
• Collaborate and coordinate efforts with faculty and staff
• Attend meetings and school events
• Maintain a professional relationship with all constituents
• Collaborate with Enrichment teachers in creating curriculum

Requirements:

• Teaching experience (experience in the independent school world a plus)
• Knowledge of current best practices in physical education; a degree or significant coursework in physical education preferred
• Experience working with children 
• Strong communication and organization skills
• A supportive, student-centered approach and ability to differentiate instruction
• Preferred candidates must demonstrate a commitment to anti-bias and anti-racism work
