Lower School Associate Teacher
Greenwich Academy seeks talented beginning teachers to serve as associate teachers in our Lower School. The AT Program is a two-year commitment designed for qualified college graduates with liberal arts backgrounds. Associate teachers are welcomed into a collegial, supportive environment, introduced to a variety of effective teaching styles, and offered an array of professional development opportunities including seminars, outside speakers and career counseling. ATs are full members of the Lower School teaching teams, preparing and delivering lessons in language arts, mathematics and social studies.
Most associate teachers pursue graduate studies concurrent to their teaching responsibilities, attending classes at nearby universities or through approved online programs. Greenwich Academy partially funds graduate studies.
GA seeks candidates dedicated to immersing themselves in school life and in the education of girls. Our faculty believes in student-centered teaching and in teaching that encourages students to learn for the joy of learning.
Greenwich Academy expects all teachers to embrace a commitment to a variety of teaching strategies, to be enthusiastic learners themselves, and to be dedicated to sustaining a culture of anti-racism and anti-bias in our community.
