 Additional Expectations:      

• Establishes and maintains standards of behavior and organization for classroom to achieve an inclusive and productive learning environment;   

• Develops lesson plans and instructional materials as part of planned learning experiences to motivate and engage all students based on their varying needs and identities;   

• Monitors and assesses academic and social/emotional growth, keeps accurate records, prepares progress reports, and communicates with parents/guardians on individual student progress;   

• Creates, with assistance from students, a functional, flexible and attractive environment for learning through using displays, bulletin boards and learning centers and assumes responsibility for proper care and use of equipment;   

• Demonstrates a commitment to life-long learning through participation in professional growth opportunities provided by the school and/or self-selected;     

• Interprets the educational program to parents/guardians and other community members through personal conferences, meetings, and various media;   

• Attends faculty meetings, in-service meetings, team meetings, grade level meetings or department meetings as required;   

• Administers and scores assessments and tests as may be required by the school;   

• Performs basic attendance accounting as required;   

• Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day as required;   

• Shares in sponsorship of student activities and participates in faculty committees;   

• Performs other duties of an adjunct nature, which are necessary to smooth operation of the school as needed.

Position Requirements  

The candidate must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree is preferred. Prior lead teaching experience at the lower grade levels is expected. 

Expertise in the use of technology to enhance instruction and manage daily expectations as a team member is also needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have working knowledge of Google Suite Apps (Google Docs, Slides, Sheets Forms, Jamboard, etc.) and Microsoft Outlook, and be able to learn to use other applications and hardware (Seesaw, Apple TV, On Record, Blackboard, etc.).  

All school personnel must successfully complete a fingerprint background check through Live Scan and provide current tuberculosis clearance.
