Qualifications & Responsibilities:
Westover is seeking a part-time Director of Technical Theater to take up the position beginning immediately for the 2022-2023 academic year. The ideal candidate would hold a degree(s) in technical theater or ample technical theater experience as well as experience working with students. The candidate would also have experience in set design and set building (carpentry and painting), lighting design and lighting implementation (hanging and replacing lights and running the lighting board), sound design, and technical effects including video, projector use, etc.
The Technical Theater Director would be responsible for the following:

Creating and Implementing a student-centered Technical Theater Curriculum for Students

Collaborating with the Drama Director and Costume Director
-
Providing Technical Direction and student support in set design, lighting design, sound design, prop design, and stage management for three Drama shows per year

Providing Technical Direction and student support in lighting and sound design for the Annual Music Concert
-
Providing Technical Direction and student support in lighting design, sound design, and prop creation for the Annual Dance Concert
-
Assisting with any other School Productions in the Theater (e.g. Student Directed Shows)

Acting as the Technical Point of Contact for Renters and Outside Productions

Creating, Implementing, and Enforcing Safety Protocols and Procedures
-
Maintaining Proper Maintenance of Theater Equipment
-
Keeping an Inventory of the Theater's Technical Supplies

Overseeing and Managing the Tech Theater Budget
This position has the potential of being paired with other part-time roles at the school, such as in the Technology Department, in order to make it a full time position.
