McLean School (mcleanschool.org), a K-12 co-educational independent school in Potomac, Maryland, seeks applicants for a Boys Middle School Lacrosse Coach (Grades 5-8) for the Spring 2023 season, which runs from March through the middle of May.

The Boys Middle School Lacrosse Coach is responsible for team oversight, acting as a positive role model, and supporting the Mission and Core Values of the School.
This position reports directly to the Director of Athletics, Coaching, and Mentoring.
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have experience as a youth, high school, and/or club-level coach, experience with providing differentiated instruction to athletes of all levels, effective written and oral communication skills, knowledgeable of the fundamentals and techniques of competitive soccer, an ability to build relationships and work well with others, a sharp perspective on the role of athletics in the educational experience.
Essential Duties
- Be a positive role model
- Plan, direct, and administer policies for all team practices and matches
- Communicate team expectations at the start of the season
- Design training sessions that are dynamic, engaging, and provide challenge
- Create an environment of respect that is rooted in hard work, teamwork, sportsmanship and supporting teammates
- Communicate with athletes and parents
- Ensure proper safety measures are observed when conducting team activities
- Attend seasonal coaches meetings
- Give appropriate attention, care, and follow-up to student-athletes who are injured or ill, including filling out injury report forms
