Buffalo Seminary is an independent day and boarding high school for college-bound girls. Founded in 1851, SEM is located in the historic Elmwood Village neighborhood of Buffalo, New York and is registered on the National Register of Historic Places. Our five student and faculty residences are renovated historic homes adjacent to our school building. At SEM, girls are united in their ambition for a superb and challenging education and find a comprehensive program that prepares them well for both college and lifelong endeavors.

This is a part-time position teaching Spanish to grades 9 - 12. In addition, assisting in the planning of our spring trip to a Spanish-speaking country as well as potential travel on that trip are a requirement. The exceptional candidate possesses a positive and upbeat manner, strong pedagogical background, experience in conducting immersive classes, high standards, and a firm desire to work in collaboration with colleagues. Teaching responsibilities include a strong commitment to an all-girls environment, a student-centered approach to teaching, a reflective teaching practice and a passion to inspire young women in the development of a second (or third) language. Part-time may typically include serving as an advisor to 6-8 students and active engagement with our extra-curricular program throughout the year.
