POSITION DESCRIPTION
St. Anne’s Episcopal School is pleased to announce an opening for a full-time Director of Community Belonging and Engagement for the 2023-2024 school year.
The Director of Community Belonging and Engagement at St. Anne’s is a full-time position for a member of the Administrative Team who reports directly to the Head of School. In alignment with the School’s commitment to Episcopal values and heritage, including respect for and appreciation of all people from all backgrounds, the Director will enhance a comprehensive program that unifies inclusion and cultural competency efforts across St. Anne’s. This individual will work towards the widespread integration of Belonging, Love, and Justice practices within the school and greater community and facilitate the continued development and implementation of a Belonging, Love, and Justice curriculum while establishing measures of accountability that help foster a culture where all people are seen, heard.
The Director of Community Belonging and Engagement also will create and maintain local and national partnerships that further the school’s mission to educate minds, enrich hearts, and expand horizons. The Director will co-chair the One St. Anne’s organization. A school community wide organization designed to educate and ensure all members of the community feel included. The position will be a non-voting member of the Board of Trustees and co-chair the DEIJB Committee of the Board of Trustees with a board member. This is a 12-month, full-time position.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS
- Create an environment that celebrates our work with the community and is welcoming to all people.
- Facilitate the continued development and implementation of a Belonging, Love, and Justice curriculum. Collaborate with the faculty on curricular issues.
- Build, support, and improve the school’s services and experiences through their work with admission, members of the teaching faculty, student support services, parents and families, the staff and leadership, communications, alumni, athletics, and human resources.
- Evaluate the school’s recruitment, admission, and human resources practices and find and retain people who embody the inclusive mission of the school.
- Engage all constituencies (employees, students, families, and alumni).
- Organize and coordinate Belonging, Love, and Justice educational programs for multiple audiences.
- Celebrate special events, themed months, and holidays in an inclusive way.
- Create a system for periodic evaluation of DEIJB efforts.
- Work with the communications department to inform the school community and the larger community.
- Increase St. Anne’s visibility as a leader in DEIJB efforts.
- Assess current academic programs to ensure the school meets the needs of our entire student body.
- Lead the work of affinity groups at St. Anne’s.
- Serve as the St. Anne’s representative to diversity-related organizations, e.g. the Colorado Diversity Network, C.I.R.C.L.E.
- Other duties as assigned.
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enjoys working in a school environment with students, teachers, and staff.
- Bachelor's degree required with Master’s degree strongly preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience with DEIJB work.
- Must have a deep understanding of the complex issues in our national, regional, and local communities with regard to race, gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, physical and learning abilities, and other identities.
- Experience working in an independent school setting or other non-profit setting is preferred.
- Ability to build a sense of community and rally people together.
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to build a new program.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Team-oriented, ability to work with multiple departments in a school setting.

SALARY RANGE & BENEFITS
$85,000 - $95,000 Annually (Commensurate with Experience)
