The Lower School is seeking dynamic candidates for a full-time 4th Grade Long-Term Substitute Teacher position, starting early March 2023. Applicants should have relevant teaching experience. Candidates having familiarity with Responsive Classroom, Singapore: Math in Focus, and Readers’ and Writers’ Workshop are desired. The long-term substitute will be responsible for teaching math and social studies. The long-term substitute position will be expected to fulfill responsibilities for the lead including but not limited to writing report cards, communicating with families, and attending necessary faculty meetings/events.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. An advanced degree is desired. The successful candidate will have excellent rapport with and knowledge of elementary students and enjoy working with them in a variety of school activities in addition to classroom teaching. They should have an interest in supporting students' development of the necessary academic, social, and attitudinal skills to achieve 21st-Century leadership. Candidates should be ready to engage in helping the school to achieve its goal of being an anti-racist institution with broad DEIJB goals. Familiarity with Quaker education is a plus.
