Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Alumni/ae Engagement and Annual Giving will be responsible for managing the alumni/ae relations program aimed at building dynamic engagement between the school and its alumni/ae. The position will also provide support to the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni/ae Engagement in their execution of annual giving strategies aimed at increasing giving from all constituencies, primarily alumni/ae.
Success is determined by the creation of quality alumni/ae events that are well-attended and are of value to the attendees, by developing programs that build affinity and loyalty, by creating a communications strategy aimed at building awareness and connection to the school, and by implementing strategic approaches that foster pride, advocacy and philanthropic support.
The position reports to the Director of Institutional Advancement with supervision and support from the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni/ae Engagement.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Program Management:
- Organize and conduct the Alumni/ae Annual Reunion Program to operationally support alumni/ae volunteers and to provide an excellent experience for all participants
- Plan and execute existing high profile alumni/ae events including but not limited to the Alumni/ae Speaker Series Events, the Distinguished Alumni/ae Award Event, the Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony in conjunction with Reunion weekend, and other events designed to build affinity and loyalty among alumni
Alumni/ae Council:
- Work with the Alumni/ae Council, advising and supporting on its goals and objectives in its role of developing alumni/ae affinity in support of the advancement of the school
- Actively manage the activities of the committees to accomplish their annual goals as defined by the greater council
Communications:
- Prepare alumni/ae related articles and information for the SPA Magazine, the Alumni/ae Newsletter and other publications
- Recruit, manage and engage Class Agents to provide updates on the activities of their classmates to build interest and affinity among the class
- Develop a robust and creative social media strategy for alumni/ae utilizing platforms that connect with age/demographic profiles of our alumni/ae including but not limited to LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and more
- Assist in the maintenance, tracking and updating of of alumni/ae records in the Raiser’s Edge database
Annual Giving:
- In support of the Director of Annual Giving and Alumni/ae Engagement, assist in executing strategies and tactics that are a part of the overall annual giving program
- Assist in developing and executing a Reunion Giving program, encouraging alumni/ae to make special gifts on the occasion of their reunion
- Support the activity of all annual giving volunteers to help achieve overall budgeted dollar goals for the Annual Fund

Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Two to four years related experience in advancement program development, either for an educational institution, a non-profit or other membership organization, or equivalent corporate experience
- Experience in event and volunteer management
- Effective working with small teams and volunteers – of varying levels of skill and experience – and be able to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines with limited supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal, listening and customer service skills
- Commitment to personal and professional growth
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word, as well as Google Suite
- Preferred experience using CRM software, preferably Raiser’s Edge
- Display comfort in a fast-paced, results oriented environment.
- Requires occasional weekend hours
- Enthusiastic and motivated team member.
- Effective cross-cultural communication skills. Able to operate effectively in diverse environments and interact successfully with people from widely varying backgrounds.
