Dawson, a K-12 independent school of 529 students located east of Boulder on a beautiful 112-acre campus, seeks a full-time Systems Engineer to support our students, faculty, and staff. Dawson is a growing and passionate educational community dedicated to the healthy development and education of all of its students.
The Systems Engineer researches, analyzes, manages, tests, documents, repairs, and deploys computers and mobile devices, networking infrastructure, and software systems to support Dawson faculty, staff, and students in their use of technology to serve the mission of the school. This is a year-round full-time position.

Professional and Personal Qualifications
- Strong experience managing cybersecurity in an enterprise environment
- Strong technical troubleshooting skills and technical literacy
- Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to general audiences with a variety of skill levels.
- Thorough understanding of fundamental networking concepts including subnetting and VLAN construction best practices
- Strong knowledge of macOS, iOS, tvOS, Google Workspaces, Blackbaud, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office
- Experience with managing desktop and mobile devices using MDMs such as JAMF and AD Group Policy
- Experience managing firewalls and packet inspection
- Experience working in Mac and Windows integrated, enterprise environments
- Experience troubleshooting Windows 10/11 and Windows 2016 Server
- Experience managing Windows AD in an enterprise environment including using Radius/LDAP
- Experience with working with children of all ages is a plus
- Experience working in an education environment is a plus
- Maintains an attitude that encourages collaboration

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Director of Innovation and Technology to implement new technologies and projects
- Design, monitor and maintain all network services including wireless infrastructure, Layer 3 switches, servers, VPN access, and phone system
- Utilize enterprise-grade device management tools to configure and manage all computer labs, employee and student computers, mobile devices and respective software deployments and updates to these devices
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a network of servers, 500+ computers (>95% Mac), mobile devices, and networking hardware
- Manage data archiving, backups, and storage both on premise and in the cloud
- Analyze, design, document, and update system processes to configure networking equipment, firewall, content filters, computers, software, and other hardware used throughout campus
- Source, evaluate, and recommend hardware and software solutions from various vendors
- Update cybersecurity and disaster recovery plans to prepare for catastrophic failure to major technology systems and keep cybersecurity at the forefront of all IT decisions
- Install, setup, troubleshoot, and maintain printers, copier, projectors and other technology assets
- Troubleshoot and repair computers, mobile devices, and network equipment
- Manage an accurate inventory of Innovation and Technology Department assets
- Create and maintain accounts for students and employees to access network, wireless, email, and other software systems
- Provide prompt and high-quality tech support utilizing our IT ticket tracking system
- Train faculty and staff in various technology applications by creating robust user documentation and providing in-person support
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $72,000. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and 401K.
