MSNV is seeking an exceptional Middle School Guide who has a passion for working with adolescents to join our growing school starting August 2023. This Guide will have the unique opportunity to work with seasoned Middle School teachers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively with staff and parents, a dedication to Montessori standards, and excellent communication skills.
The Guide will have the opportunity to provide quality, differentiated instruction and build meaningful relationships with Middle School students. The candidate should have strong writing and communications skills and a solid understanding of all academic areas.
The 7th and 8th grade Middle School Guide is responsible for teaching various classes, curriculum development, and extended program activities in Middle School. The candidate should have an appreciation and respect for the social and emotional development of adolescents and their individuality. The candidate will also be willing to take on exciting opportunities to promote the Middle School and have some administrative responsibilities. The position requires coordinating various Middle School programs, teaching various subjects/classes, serving as an advisor to a small cohort of students, and being an active support of various student life activities.

- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with all constituents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Collaborates well with colleagues of diverse backgrounds on pedagogical approaches, curricular alignment and instructional strategies.
- Promotes the use of multiple methods in solving problems, identifying more efficient strategies and generalizing principles to a broad variety of applications.
- Encourages collaborative teamwork in the classroom, teaching students to communicate effectively and thoughtfully, justify their reasoning and to consider multiple perspectives when solving problems.
- Invests in the life of the school by participating in the advisory program, social and emotional learning, weekly team meetings, and any and all aspects that support the student experience.
- Demonstrates professional behavior, including discretion, judgment and integrity.
- Effectively interacts with a diverse population of students and faculty.
Bachelor's degree or /equivalent professional experience which would translate to successful classroom teaching. Middle School or High School experience preferred. Montessori experience preferred, an understanding of the philosophy is required as well as being in alignment with MSNV’s mission.
