North Shore Country Day (NSCD), a vibrant junior kindergarten to 12th grade college preparatory school in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois, seeks an Admissions Associate to begin immediately. North Shore is eager to consider applications from groups traditionally underrepresented in independent school communities.
The Admissions Associate is an integral part of the school’s admissions team. The primary role of the Admissions Associate is to facilitate the day-to-day operations of the admissions office and assist with all phases of recruitment, enrollment, and retention of students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist prospective students and families with the admissions and enrollment processes from the inquiry phase through on-campus registration.
- Actively support admissions outreach and engagement efforts by building relationships with current and prospective families, NSCD faculty and staff, sending school representatives, and community partners.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on each prospective student throughout the admission process.
- Review student application materials, provide admission recommendations, and enter/track data in the admissions database.
- Support retention and re-enrollment of current students.
- Assist with the coordination of on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events.
- Provide campus tours, schedule visit days, and provide conversion support through regular follow-up with families.
- Support and manage the planning and implementation of recruitment, retention, and yield events for prospective and current families.
- Attend on- and off-campus outreach, engagement, yield, and orientation events.
- Collaborate with members of the admissions team to determine and enact strategies and tactics to reach prospective families.
- Identify and develop relationships with potential feeder schools and organizations.
- Maintain discretion with all admissions, enrollment, and institutional data.
- Engage internal and external stakeholders in a diplomatic fashion in order to move admissions goals forward.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Admission and Financial Aid.
Qualifications

- Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Flexibility, a sense of humor and an inclination to find the joy in working with kids, adolescents and their families.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Experience with early childhood/lower school admissions, financial aid, or admissions operations preferred.
- Exercises discretion, confidentiality and personal initiative.
- Excellent desktop productivity skills. Google Workspace, CRM, and database experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
