Teacher teams across multiple disciplines design learning experiences for a whole grade level. As an Avenues art teacher you will:

• Ensure that students achieve key learning outcomes in the arts, targeting instruction thoughtfully to address diverse individual needs
• Collaborate intensively with colleagues both inside the classroom and during extensive co-planning time to refine visual art curriculum and develop interdisciplinary projects
• Build a robust learning atmosphere that leads students to feel part of a rigorous but joyful learning community
• Use state-of-the-art information technology to support students and provide them access to the full resources of knowledge available online.

The start date for this role is August 2023. If hired for this position, the annual salary range for this position is between $72,000 - $112,433. The salary may vary depending on your campus location and skills. • A passion for learning new techniques and technology, and passing it on to your students

• Knowledge of art history, contemporary art practice and contemporary art world.
• Expertise in multiple areas and experience or strong interest in others: 
  • Drawing skills, both traditional and non-traditional
  • Sculpture skills, including plaster, clay and woodworking
  • Painting and printmaking skills
  • Digital Media (Photo and Adobe Creative Suite)
• A focus on students as children and a recognition that healthy social and cognitive development is our primary charge
• An enthusiasm for working with students and their families as individuals with disparate yet valuable gifts
• A remarkable entrepreneurial drive, creativity and ability to bring new ideas to fruition
• Intellectual curiosity and humility to reflect, welcome feedback, and grow in teaching practice
