Founded in 1930, The Tatnall School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school situated on a pastoral, 110-acre campus in Greenville, Delaware, near Wilmington. Tatnall includes four academic divisions with 500 students from age 3 through grade 12. Tatnall is seeking a dynamic Upper School Mathematics teacher able to teach a range of courses, with the possibility of being Department Chair. The teacher would be a member of the Mathematics Department (both Middle School and Upper School), working alongside veteran colleagues. The department is actively involved in Tatnall’s mission to help students develop both helpful skills and experience with the application of mathematical concepts. In addition to their work in the classroom, department teachers frequently work individually with students to offer support and extensions of the curriculum. This position is for the 2023-2024 School Year.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach either four or five sections of Mathematics depending on the assumption of position of Department Chair
- Serve as advisor for 5-10 students
- Participate fully in the life of the community
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements:
- B.A., M.A. preferred
- A minimum of three to five years of teaching experience preferred
- Experience working with diverse groups of students and appreciation for a range of learning styles.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A student-centered approach to education
- Ability to work in a diverse and lively independent school setting and to work closely and collegially with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and parents
