Wilshire Boulevard Temple is seeking a Junior Systems Engineer with excellent technical and customer service skills to assist with the development and implementation of the network infrastructure as well as provide day-to-day user support.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
• Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues for staff (teachers/clergy/admin)and students.
• Provide documentation and technical specifications to others for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
• Setup, maintain and delete user accounts as required in AD/Google Workspace.
• Level 2/3 escalated support, making sure all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
• Monitor systems daily and respond immediately to security or usability concerns.
• Patch and/or upgrade systems and processes as required for enhanced functionality and security issue resolution.
• Administrate infrastructure, including firewalls, databases, malware protection software and other processes.
• Prior experience reviewing, understanding, and implementing network and security protocols and methods (i.e. 802.1x, DHCP, VLANs, Firewalls, IPSEC/TLS, et al).
• Cabling infrastructure maintenance and management.
• Network Design and Implementation.
• Server with Domain Controller Deployment.
• Multi VM Server Setup Experience.
• Network Routing Configuration and Deployment.
• Commercial Switches Configuration Experience.
• Strong Background in Desktop Support.
• Advanced support for systems & applications per IT Director/senior systems engineer’s instructions.
• Manage multiple projects.
• Assist with tasks for Designing and implementing process improvements.
• Plan and schedule system and hardware upgrades and updates.
• Provide status updates to the IT Director
• Timely escalation of support issues ensuring all clients are 100% satisfied.

Demonstrated Knowledge Required:

• Have a bachelors degree, higher education degree, or 4+ years of high-level IT support experience.
• Extensive experience Windows Server 2012-2019
• Experience with configuration and management for SonicWall networking products
• Experience with VMware ESX server implementation and management
• Comprehensive LAN/WAN experience for routing, switches, ACLs, and VLANs
• Familiarity with industry-standard practices.
• Experience with various anti-virus, anti-spam, and content filtering system
• Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
• Ability to communicate and work well with others
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
• Ability to respond to help desk requests after hours.

Brawerman Elementary School is a Reform Jewish day school with two campuses. The original West campus was founded in 1999 in a modern facility located in West Los Angeles. The East campus opened in fall 2011 in the heart of L.A.’s Koreatown, in the historic Wilshire Boulevard Temple.
